Hi ChrisPat,These lower belts were first introduced with Kongo. They are so narrow I really don't understand why they simply did not taper the main belt down instead of adding a seperate plate....

Steven197,You are correct in your understanding. The forward turrets the slope received additional armor in two plates. Frame 53 (J and K) Using frame 77 as the example (L and M). Probably placed here...
